Recipes From the Farm

     We'd like to share our family's favorite recipes with you and invite you to submit your favorite recipes for us to include in future editions.  Our family is vegetarian, so you will find that our recipes adhere to a mostly plant based style, although we do include some dairy and eggs (remember, we have our own healthy, happy contributors for dairy and eggs!)

     Many of our recipes are reworked from recipes handed down across the generations.  My mom was a wonderful cook, creating most of our meals from scratch and relying on her large garden and our family's farm produce for many of the ingredients.  We had a mostly hobby farm, but the eggs, milk, and all the vegetables were always enjoyed!  She taught me the skill of innovation; if she was out of an ingredient, she just substituted another and kept on creating.  Her baking skills won her many awards at the county fair each year, including baked breads.  Our children have garnered quite a bit of our family's love for meal crafting and you will find much of my mother, grandmother, and many other relatives influences in these recipes.  I believe you will find the genuine family love that they inspire!
